Overexcitabilities and Self-Care Workbook (Clinical Use)

$59.99

✨ New Release ✨

Do your clients struggle with navigating their overexcitabilities (OEs)?

Overexcitabilities (OEs) — emotional, sensory, intellectual, imaginational, and psychomotor intensities — are a common part of the neurodivergent experience. While these intensities can feel like a gift, they can also present unique challenges for individuals seeking balance and well-being.

This workbook was created to support clinicians in their work with clients who experience OEs. It offers a structured framework that can be shared with clients to help them better understand their intensities and develop personalized strategies for working with them.

For this project, Dr. Neff collaborated with Kaylyn Gray, a 2E AuDHD artist and member of the Neurodivergent Insights team. Kaylyn developed a creative self-care framework to support her own overexcitabilities, and her perspective brings a fresh, dynamic energy to this workbook.

Together, we’ve created a resource that clinicians can use to guide their clients toward honoring, nurturing, and integrating their intensities into their lives with intention and compassion. With its blend of psychoeducation, reflective exercises, and practical strategies, the workbook serves as a supportive tool for exploring and working with OEs.

Here’s what’s inside:

✦ Background of Overexcitabilities

  • What are OEs, and where did they come from?

  • An overview of OEs and their role in the gifted and neurodivergent experience.

✦ Detailed Descriptions of Each OE

  • Learn about the five OEs: emotional, intellectual, imaginational, psychomotor, and sensory.

  • Discover how they might show up in your life.

✦ Discovering Your OE Profile

  • Reflective exercises to help you identify which OEs resonate most with your experience.

✦ The OE Framework for Self-Care

  • Learn how to use your OEs as a guide for building personalized self-care strategies.

✦ How to Nurture Your OEs

  • Creative ideas and practices to ā€œfeedā€ your OEs and channel their energy in positive ways.

✦ How to Detox From Overwhelming OEs

  • Explore antidotes and strategies for times when your OEs feel ā€œtoo much.ā€

✦ Additional Resources and Worksheets

How it works:

✦ You’ll receive this workbook in two formats:

  • A printable 8.5 x 11 PDF

  • A fillable PDF your clients can type directly into, offering flexibility for in-person or virtual sessions.

✦ Licensing information: Purchasing the Coaching and Clinician’s Version gives you full rights to share this workbook with your personal clients in individual or group settings. However, this license does not permit sharing the workbook with other clinicians or professionals.
